The York Regional Police hosted the 9th annual Rob Plunkett Memorial Torch Run at the Riverwalk Commons in support of Special Olympics Ontario.
The May 25th event included a 5km walk/run and a 10km run along the beautiful Tom Taylor Trail raising money and awareness for Special Olympics Ontario. This year's goal was $25,000.
Runners and walkers travelled south along Tom Taylor Trail to Paul Semple Park, (located off Savage Road next to Armitage Village PS), and then returned back to Fairy Lake.
The event was held as a memorial to Rob Plunkett, a York Regional Police Officer who was tragically killed while on duty in 2007.
