September means back to school for children. The return of the school year can also inspire a lot of parents to think about signing up for night school or on-line courses for themselves.
The Newmarket Public Library offers a variety of free, instructor led, on-line courses through Gale Courses. Whether you are interested in upgrading career skills such as learning business accounting, sales and marketing, or computer skills, or pursuing a hobby like photography or creative writing, with approximately 300 courses to choose from there appears to be almost something for anyone who is interested.
Todd Kyle, the CEO of the Newmarket Public Library, says that registration is simple. The courses are free to anyone with a library card. You just need to complete a profile questionnaire to register. Each course takes approximately six weeks to complete and there is no limit to the number of courses a person can enroll in.
